Meet at ‘Tiptree’ Tea Rooms in The Minories Art Gallery, 74, High Street Colchester CO1 1UE for coffee before we visit the ‘Firstsite Gallery’, a local art gallery showing mainly contemporary art with a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions. Their website it is not clear whether there is an admission charge for visiting. For those that wish to explore Colchester further we can then enjoy Castle Park if the weather is kind and/or visit Colchester Castle Museum which has an admission charge of £9.95. There are local car parks and the bus station is ten minutes’ walk. If travelling by train, Colchester Town station is a five minutes’ walk but does require a transfer from the main Colchester station which is twenty five minutes’ walk.
Monday 22nd July. 12.30pm
Meet at the main entrance (on Trumpington Road), of the Botanic Garden, 1, Brookside, Cambridge CB2 1JE for a visit to these beautifully landscaped gardens and glasshouses which are home to over eight thousand plant species from around the world. The gardens are ten minutes’ walk from the train station or twenty minutes’ walk from the town centre. If you are using the Trumpington Park and Ride service, there is a stop close to the gate where we will meet. After our visit to the gardens we will adjourn to The Garden Café in the Botanic Garden for coffee and cake!

Meet in the coffee shop at St. Albans Museum and Gallery, Market Place, St. Peter’s Street, St. Albans AL3 5DJ for coffee. There will be a free, temporary exhibition on Barbara Hepworth at this time.
Monday 7th October 1pm
Meet at La Margherita, 15, Magdalene Street, Cambridge CB3 0AF for an Autumn lunch which will be our final event for 2019. Please let the Local Contact know by 21st September 2019.if you wish to attend as a table will need to be booked.
