All events listed are open to all members of AOUG and their friends and families. OU graduates who are not as yet AOUG members are also welcome to attend for a taster before joining AOUG. Please contact the appropriate Local Contact prior to the day so that they will be ready to greet and welcome you.

North West Area
Saturday 16th September 2017. 11am
Meet in the Castle Café, Enniskillen Castle Museum, Wellington Road, Enniskillen. (copy of OMEGA on the table.) There are two Museums to explore as Inniskilling Museum is based within the Castle. The experience brings to life six hundred years of history, firstly as the Maguire family stronghold, then the Plantation years and on through Fermanagh’s role in World War II. Joint ticket for both museums is £5.00 (Seniors £3.50). Free car park and the bus centre is only a few minutes’ walk to the Castle. Booking is essential via the Local Contact or Executive Representative so that a guided tour and transport can be agreed. (It is also planned to take in Castle Coole which is 1 ½ miles from Enniskillen Town Centre. This is an 18th Century country mansion with a landscaped Park built for the first Earl of Bedmore.)

Munster Area
Saturday 28th October 2017. 11.30am
Meet at Dooley’s Hotel Restaurant, The Quay, Waterford City for coffee  (copy of OMEGA on the table) prior to following the Viking Trail which takes us to the Bishop’s Palace, the Medieval Museum and Waterford Crystal where a guided tour can be booked at a cost of 10 euros. Reginald’s Tower can be climbed by those agile enough to take on the steps. Afterwards refreshments and planning the year ahead.

Belfast Area
Saturday 9th December 2017. 12noon
Meet in the Foyer of the Hilton Hotel, 4, Lanyon Place, Belfast City for a Festive Christmas Lunch. The Local Contact will be carrying a copy of OMEGA. The hotel is close to Belfast Central Railway Station, bus services and shopping. The Continental market in the grounds of the Belfast City Hall has grown from strength to strength in recent years. Family and friends welcome.
