Meet in the entrance of the Hilton Hotel, 4 Lanyon Place, Belfast City, BT1 3LP for a festive lunch. The Local Contact will be carrying a copy of OMEGA. The Hotel is close to Belfast Central Railway Station, bus services and shopping areas. The day will give you an opportunity to visit Belfast’s Traditional Continental Christmas Market on the grounds of Belfast City Hall. The Market has grown from strength to strength featuring attractions from across the Continent along with local traders. Guests of members are welcome as there is so much on offer.

Dublin area
Saturday 21st January 2017. 11.30am
Meet at the entrance of Swords Castle, Bridge Street, Swords, County Dublin for a tour of the castle and following lunch a tour of the grounds of (and possibly inside) St. Columba’s Church. This is a unique opportunity to visit little gems from the medieval period in the north county Dublin village of Swords. Our tour will begin by visiting Swords Castle, the Archbishop’s manorial residence, with its magnificently restored chapel. After lunch in a local restaurant, the group will visit the grounds of St. Columba’s Church of Ireland (designed by Francis Johnston, architect of the General Post Office) to view its Round Tower built as a precaution against Viking raids and Square Tower, the only remaining part of the medieval Abbey. It is hoped to arrange a visit to the church building too. There is lots of fascinating history to learn about throughout the day. Voluntary donations to the church restoration fund would be very much appreciated. There are frequent bus services to Swords from Dublin on numbers 31, 31b, 33 and 41 (, and by car via M1, R132 and R122, but note that parking can be problematic in Swords on Saturdays because of shopping. Please notify the Local Contact for Dublin of your intention to attend.
