Welcome to AOUG in Ireland (12)

Welcome | News | Diary Dates

Welcome to the AOUG in Ireland, Nation 12.  The Executive Representative organises events and activities throughout the Nation supported by Local Contacts in Dublin, Belfast, the South and the North-West.  Recently we have visited Drumcliffe to experience the life and times of W B Yeats, taken in lunchtime concerts in Galway and Dublin, visited Athlone Castle, Fermanagh Museums and Armagh for an afternoon on the Hill, along with festive events organised by Local Contacts in Dublin and Belfast.

Due to the density of the area and diversity of Members more Local Contacts would be welcome so that there is wider access to what our Nation has to offer.  So, if you have any ideas for places of interest that you would like to visit yourself, within easy travelling distance of your own home, please let the AOUG Office know and we will assist you in advertising the event, in the hope that others might be interested in joining you.

As the present Executive Representative’s tenure ends in May 2018 we would like to hear from any Irish member who might be interested in finding out more about the coordinator’s role for the whole of Ireland.  This person would liaise with the different Local Contacts, and attend Executive Committee meetings in the UK, usually at Milton Keynes, to represent Irish members and to take part in discussions and decisions on the running of our Association.

Please see the Diary Dates for upcoming events where you would be welcome to join us.  Any Member along with family or friends can enjoy these opportunities to meet up with other Graduates, share stories about their experiences of Open University studies, and visit new places to explore the history and culture of our Nation.

If any of these interest you, please contact the AOUG Office for more information.. AOUG Office, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes MK7 6AA or phone 01908653316 or e-mail
